Amazon lists GTA 5 for PC

Amazon France has posted a product listing for a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V, suggesting Rockstar Games’ critically acclaimed open-world game is coming to the platform. A PC version of the game remains officially unannounced and a Rockstar representative was not immediately available to comment.

Amazon France has a history of spilling information on new, unannounced retail offerings. The website was responsible for providing first details on Call of Duty: Black Ops II, as well as software collections for Ratchet & Clank, Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia, and Team Ico games Shadow of the Colossus and Ico.

GTAV is widely expected to come to PC sometime in 2014. In October, multiple Eurogamer sources said GTAV would be released for PC in early 2014, while a representative for Chip maker Intel has said that GTAV is not expected to be a console-exclusive for much longer. 2008’s Grand Theft Auto IV launched in April for consoles before coming to PC in December of that year.

An online petition calling for a PC version of GTAV recently crossed 650,000 signatures, making it one of the biggest-ever petitions hosted on Change.org.

If GTAV does come to PC, it may not be the only new platform for the game. Robert W. Baird analyst Colin Sebastian contends that the game will be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2014.
