F.E.A.R. Online has been announced, developed by Korea based Inplay Interactive and published by Aeria Games. It will be a free-to-play multiplayer online shooter and they’re taking beta applicants right now.
“We are thrilled to present the next entry in one of the most popular horror franchises of the last decade,” Tom Nichols said, VP of PC Games at Aeria. “ F.E.A.R. Online will bring back the tense, heart-pounding action that the series is known for and make it accessible to a huge online community of competitive players.”
F.E.A.R. Online will feature a variety of team modes spanning across ten maps that are “packed with grotesque details such as still-twitching bodies hanging from meat hooks and messages smeared in blood.” F.E.A.R. 3’s Soul King mode will be making a return in this free-to-play version.
The game will also continue the story in cooperative scenarios with teams of four, detailing the “terrifying occurrences surrounding the F.E.A.R. team parallel to the events of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.”
